PM's cousin Tariq Shafi makes second appearance before Panama JIT

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister Tariq Shafi appeared on Sunday for the second time to investigate the Sharif family.

Shafi moved to the Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad. JIT Secretariat is Abid Sher Ali, Water and Power Secretary.

Shafi told reporters after his JIT appearance that he had raised questions about the Sharif family's Gulf Steel Mills.

He was not recalled by the JIT and added that new documents were not provided to the investigating team.

Dawn cited an insider who previously said that Shafi would be reviewed for his statements recorded during his early appearances in front of the body.

Shafi recorded his statement before the JIT on May 15.

Insiders have previously told DawnNews that JIT has summoned members of the Sharif family. We have summoned members of the Sharif family for the second time, as the statements made by the investigator and the documents submitted by the relevant ministries were found to be in contrast.

A strong six-member team is in the process of moving towards the conclusion of the Sharif family business deal investigations.

The sources said the JIT will complete the investigation by the end of the week if the DIT completes its final investigation by the second week of July before it is submitted to the court before the deadline of July 10.

On Saturday, JIT reviewed the Sharif family business and tax records submitted by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SECP) and the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).

The JIT also compiled Prime Minister's daughter Maryam Nawaz Sharif on July 5 and agreed that the ruling party would call the summons "selfish decision".

Maryam will be the 7th member of her family so far summoned in connection with the investigation into the alleged money laundering charge.

JIT convened their brothers Hussein and Hassan on July 3 and 4, respectively. Hussain Nawaz has appeared on JIT five times since May 28.

Some of Sharif's family members at JIT include Nawaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, Shahbaz Sharif, and Prime Minister Mohammad Safdar, who resigned as prime minister.

The JIT is divided into 3-2 by the Supreme Court on a bench made up of five judges, and the ruling on the Panamanian thesis was made by a judge, Judge Asif Saeed Khosa and judge Gulzar Ahmed, in the judgment.

The two judges ruled against Sharif and said they should be disqualified, and three others wanted to create JIT.

Despite the exaggerated efforts of the JIT and its ongoing investigations, law enforcement and criminal investigators believe that once the report is submitted to the court, it is simply the beginning of a lengthy process.

Legal experts believe that when the JIT report is completed, they can have additional hearings.
